A lot of people who are exerting too much of their brain power usually exhaust not only their physical strength when engaging in various multi-tasking activities, they also tend to over extend their brains up to the point when it plainly needs some good old time for relaxation. A lot of busy people who seem to cannot fathom the idea of relaxing and taking time of from work, as well as their worries, tend to actually start having nervous breakdowns, anxiety depression and all sorts of mental illnesses that can cause a person’s sanity to go haywire, fortunately, if you’re one of those poor unfortunate ones who are unable to distress and is constantly worried and fussing over things, there are actually available cures and various treatments for treating anxiety depression.

Anxiety depression is actually characterized by all sorts of irregularities and erratic behavior from the person who is suffering from it, this is usuallu due to certain stress triggers that may tend to easily cause a person undue jitters and stress. Also, a lot of people who tend to get easily nervous over stressful activities are actually prone to having anxiety depression, its just a matter of being strong-willed when it comes to facing difficult and stress-prone activities. It may be pretty hard to overcome at first, but trying to be calm and cool in times of extreme pressure is what’ll actually save your mental health from going totally downward spiral.

When it comes to effectively curing one’s self from a mental illness, one must keep in mind that you have to be actually honest with yourself and assess what kind of depression or mental illness you actually have, go to reputable psychiatrist to get yourself diagnosed correctly as well as be able to get the right depression treatment for yourself. Here are the various types of depression:

Manic or Bipolar depression – characterized by sudden and extreme changes in one’s mood wherein one minute he or she is in an elevated state of euphoria while the
next minute (day or week) he or she is feeling to be in a personal hell.

Postpartum depression – characterized by a prolonged sadness and a feeling of emptiness by a new mother wherein physical stress during child birth, an uncertain sense of responsibility towards the new born baby can be just some of the possible factors why some new mother go through this.

Dysthimia – characterized by a slight similarity with depression, although this time, it’s been proven to be a lot less severe, but of course with any case, should be treated immediately.

Cyclothemia – characterized by a slight similarity with Manic or Bipolar depression wherein the individual suffering from this mental illness may occasionally suffer from severe changes in one’s moods.

Seasonal Affective Disorder – characterized by falling in a rut only during specific seasons (i.e. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall) studies however, prove that more people
actually fall in to a rut more during the Winter and Fall seasons and lastly, Mood swings, wherein a person’s mood may shift from happy to sad to angry in just a short time.

But the type of depression that has actually been proven to be quite common among people is anxiety depression, which is actually characterized by the state of being overly anxious about things. Anxiety, a supposedly normal behavior that’ll actually help a person adjust more to a certain stressful activity like first date jitters or a grueling exam the following day. Anxiety actually helps you get psyched up towards facing certain “difficult situations”; anxiety therefore is actually a good thing. Anxiety depression however, is simply the opposite, not to be easily dismissed as a “case of the nerves”; Anxiety depression is in actuality an illness that can be caused from the biological makeup of an individual, or in other words, a hereditary illness.

Also, there are actually various types of Anxiety depression, each having its own unique characteristics. Take for example Generalized Anxiety Disorder or GAD, this kind of Anxiety depression is a lot more complicated than the average Anxiety depression, in spite of possibly being a day-to-day habit for those who suffer this kind of Anxiety depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder actually makes the individual quite more paranoid than usual, anxiety attacks are more frequent, even absurd at times. They can even be anxious even when there’s no apparent reason that calls for them to behave in such a way. People suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder actually shows a lot of symptoms, from lack of sleep, to being unable to relax, getting tired easily, cannot concentrate on what they’re doing and even suffering from depression. This kind of Anxiety depression is still curable; just a little work will actually do the trick.

Consult a reputable cognitive behavior therapist who’ll help give the individual the therapy that he or she needs to help him or her loosen up, also prescribed medicines are sort of a must to help these individuals battle anxiety attacks, help them calm down and relax.

How do you know if someone is willing to gain self improvement? This is a question with no right or wrong answer. It will all depend onthe individual person.

Many people have ambitions, dreams and goals but do not know how to go about achieving them. They may have thought about what wouldmake up self improvement and their ideal life, but have no idea howto even start to make the plans and take the actions required tomake them a reality.

Some people have a rough idea on how to go about improving themselves. These are the people who believe that if only they had a better job,or had been given better opportunities, or met the love of theirlife, or just got the lucky breaks, everything would be fine and they would behappy and content.

They feel that their happiness or lack of happiness is decided byoutside factors and their thoughts and actions are of little consequence. They believe that they have the right to blame it on anything else but themselves.

Some believe that if only they had more money they could have whatever they want and be on their way to self improvement.

They may have spent little time thinking about what they really want from life, and do n’t actually believe there is anything they can do to create their own little paradise, apart frombuying more lottery tickets.

Other people do not even know what they actually want from their lives and may even haven’t got a clue as to what would really make them happy. They seem to just drift from day to day, week to week, month to month, and year to year, and do little more than just about get by. Is that really how you would want to live your life?

They may have seemingly secure jobs for life and be earning a reasonable amount of money to live a fairly comfortable life. They seem happy enough and have nogreat aspiration to achieve anything more from their lives than they currently have.

Is self improvement and motivation that important?

The truth is that throughout our lives we are all forever growing and developing. Circumstances make us grow and develop, even if we do not make the conscious decision to do so. Up to a certain age, we learn through formal education and we continue to learn through our experiences for the rest of our lives. We have to learn and grow to deal with everything that life throws at us. We all have to go through self improvement. And we all have to generate our own motivation.
Modern life moves at such a dramatic faster pace than at anytime in history. For anyone living in developed countries, there are more opportunities to do anything that you want to do with your life than ever before.

But there is also more competition than ever before, and ever changing technology means that there really are few, if any ‘jobs for life’ anymore. It is now regarded as normal not only to change jobs every few years throughout our working lives, but even to completely change careers and industries.

Because the workplace is so very competitive, people who are hungry and ambitious to success know they need to learn new skills and knowledge to keep well ahead of the pack. To attain this, self improvement is needed.

These are the people that will be most likely to keep their jobs,or progress within their chosen field, or that will be readily employable in different organizations or industries.

A commitment to self improvement and personal growth may well be the deciding factor to in how anyone’s future will turn out.

Self improvement and motivation should always be embraced because, to many, it’s the lifeblood of how they keep their minds and lives active. Constantly improving yourself can also be looked at being quite tiresome, but if you have that drive and ambition your whole life will definitely improve. Your social life, your love life and your whole outlook will be fulfilled.
Just living each day the same as the last destroys your outlook on life. You will look back in 5 or 10 years time and think to yourself, “what the hell have I done?”

There could just be one life. Let’s live it to the full, embrace change, challenge yourself and you will be amazed at what you can achieve and although there may be regrets, it’s a lot better than wasting away and being miserable.

In the ever changing tough environment that surrounds us it’s sometimesdifficult to stay calm, relaxed and maintain self esteem. People competing againsteach other in cut throat situations where only the toughest survive……Sorry, that seems a bit of a dramatic statement, but overcoming low self esteemin these environments can make you miserable and live a life that should be somuch happier.

Imagine yourself as a Dart Board. Everything and everyone else around you may become Dart Pins, at one point or another. These dart pins will destroy your self esteem and pull you down in ways you won’t realise is happening to you. Don’t let them destroy you, or get the best of you. So which dart pins should you avoid?

Dart Pin #1 : Negative Work Environment

Beware of people who are just hell bent on fighting each other just to get aheadof each other. The people who are non-appreciative end up thriving andbecoming those horrible middle-class managers that have no appreciationof their staff even if they clock in early, work through lunch and go home late, for no extra pay! Stay out of this, it will ruin your self esteem. Competition is at stake anywhere. Be healthy enough to compete, but in a healthy competition that is.

Dart Pin #2: Other People’s Behavior

Backstabbers, gossipmongers, whiners, controllers, naggers, complainerspatronizers, brown nosers, all these kinds of people will pose bad vibes for your self esteem, as well as to your self improvement scheme.

Dart Pin #3: Changing Environment

You can’t be a green bug on a brown field. Changes challenge our paradigms. It challenges our flexibility, adaptability and alters the way we think. Changes will make life hard for a while, it may cause stress but it will help us discover ways to improve our selves. Change will be there forever, we must be susceptible to it.

Dart Pin #4: Past Experience

When we experience pain, it’s okay to shout and scream. But don’t let pain transform itself into fear. It might grab you by the tail and swing you around. Treat each failure and mistake as a lesson. No-one can go through the years without experiencing mistakes and regrets.Taking these mistakes as lessons will go deep into your subconciousbecause the hurt was deep. If you dwell on the pain, your self esteem willcontinue to get lower.

Dart Pin #5: Negative World View

Look at what you’re looking at. Don’t wrap yourself up with all the negativities of the world. In building self esteem, we must learn how to make the best out of worst situations. Have you ever wondered why thenews is on at peak times? They want as many viewers to watch the negativedoomongers telling you what a terrible world we live in and the future is grim. Rubbish! Don’t watch the news, read a book, watch a comedy, spendtime with your family and experience different activities.

Dart Pin #6: Determination Theory

The way you are and your behavioral traits is said to be a mixed end product of your inherited traits (genetics), your upbringing (psychic), and your environmental surroundings such as your spouse, the company, the economy or your circle of friends. You have your own identity. Many, many successfulpeople often talk about their poor upbringing, one parent families and belowaverage education.

Sometimes, you may want to wonder if some people are born leaders or positive thinkers. NO.

Being positive, and staying positive is a choice. Building self esteem and drawing lines for self improvement is a choice, not a rule or a talent. God wouldn’t come down from heaven and tell you – “George, you may now have the permission to build self esteem and improve your self.”

In life, its tricky to stay tough specially when things and people around you keep pulling you down. When we get to the battle field, we should choose the right luggage to bring and armors to use, and pick those that are bullet proof. Life’s options give us arrays of more options. Along the battle, we will get hit and bruised. And wearing a bullet proof armor ideally means ‘self change’. The kind of change which comes from within. Armor or Self Change changes 3 things: our attitude, our behavior and our way of thinking.

Building self esteem will eventually lead to self improvement if we start to become responsible for who we are, what we have and what we do. Its like a flame that should gradually spread like a brush fire from inside and out. When we develop self esteem, we take control of our mission, values and discipline. Self esteem brings about self improvement, true assessment, and determination.

So how do you start putting up the building blocks of self esteem? Be positive.Be contented and happy. Be appreciative. Never miss an opportunity to compliment. A positive way of living will help you build self esteem, your starter guide to self improvement.Take inspiration from people you have always admired, it’s never too lateand apart from the very lucky few, we all started out in life withpretty much nothing. Most people left college not having a clue what to do with themselves, some people 20, 30 or 40 years on, still have n’t a clue yet live happy, positive and fulfilled lives.

I would like to ask you a question about your thoughts. If you can just spend 30 seconds just thinking about your outlook in life andwhere you think it’s going. Now would you say that your thoughts are positive or negative?

Now let’s say you are walking down the street with these thoughts.Do you think anyone who would meet you would be able to tell youwhat’s on your mind?

The answer to number one is up to you. But, the answer number two can be pretty generic. Not many people can tell you what exactly you are thinkingbut many of us can very quickly read into how positive or negativethat person is by assessing their body language.

Here’s another question. When you enter a party filled withfriends, do they all fall silent as if something terrible hadhappened? Or are you approached by many people and does everyone seem to perk up and are happy to have you in their company.

You know what? The answer to all these depends on your frame of mind.
Thoughts are very powerful. They affect your general attitude. The attitude you carry reflects on your appearance, too – unless, ofcourse, you are a great actor.

Not only that, you can also affect the people around you and affecttheir attitude. You could find that a happy person can instantly change into being quite down. Or they could be feeling down and your presence can cheer them up.

The type of attitude you carry depends on you. It can be eitherpositive or negative.
Positive thoughts have a filling effect. They are admittedlyinvigorating. Plus, the people around the person holding positive thoughts and feelings are usually energized by this type of attitude.

Negative thoughts on the other hand have a sapping effect on otherpeople. Aside from making you look gloomy and sad, negativethoughts can turn a festive gathering into a funeral wake.
A positive attitude attracts people, while a negative attitude repels them. People tend to shy away from those who carry a negative attitude. Why would you want to be in the presence of someone who is negative, miserable and boring? Because you quickly reflect that persons attitude and it’s not even your fault.

We can also define attitude as the way of looking at the world. If you focus on a world full of negative and depressing things in the world you have a negative attitude developing inside you. However, if you choose to focus on the positive things, you are more likely carry a positive attitude.

You have much to gain from a very positive attitude. For one, studies have shown that a positive attitude promotes better health. Those with this kind of attitude also have more friends. projecting a positive attitude also helps one to handle stress and problems better than those who have a negative attitude.

A positive attitude begins with a healthy self-image. If you will love the way you are and are satisfied, confident, and self-assured, you also make others are around feel the same way.
A negative attitude, on the other hand, has, of course, an opposite effect. So, carrying a negative attitude has a two-fold drawback. You feel bad about yourself, and you make others feel the same way.

If you want to have a positive attitude, you have to feature healthy thoughts. This is probably very hard to do nowadays since, all around us, the media feeds us nothing but negative thoughts. A study shows that for every 14 things a parent says to his or her child, only one is positive. This is truly a saddening thought.

If you want a healthier outlook in life, you need to think happy thoughts, and you have to hear positive things as well. So, what can you do?
Well, for starters, you could see a funny movie, you could play with children, children are the happiest people in the world, regardless of their environment, so feed off their happy spirit. Spend some time with your friends, tell jokes, talk about holidays, or days out you use to have. This will make them want to plan another day out or a trip abroad. All these activities fill you with positive stimuli, which in turn promotes positive attitude.

There is no point in hanging around with miserable and negative people as they will quickly grow onto you. Unfortunately you’re more likely to be surrounded by these people in your work environment and this can be difficult to avoid. This takes a bit of work but regardless of how they behave, either try and avoid them or take hold and try develop that persons attitude to being more positive by trying to find out what they love to do which could have a strong affect on both your attitudes.

A psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, or other mental-health professional is usually enlisted to diagnose anxiety and identify the causes of it. The physician will take a careful medical and personal history, perform a physical examination, and order laboratory tests as needed. There is no one laboratory test that can be used to diagnose anxiety, but tests may provide useful information about a medical condition that may be causing physical illness or other anxiety symptoms.

for a person to be diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), they must:

Worry Excessively and be anxious about several different events oractivities on more days than not for at least six months.

Find it difficult to control their worrying
Have at least three of the six symptoms associated with GAD on more days than not in the last six months.

Those 6 are:

Tense Muscles,
sleeping difficulties,
fatigue,
restlessness and concentration difficulties.

Generally, to be diagnosed with GAD, symptoms must be present more often than not for six months and they must interfere with their daily living, meaning the sufferer to be unable to go to work or school.

If the focus of the anxiety and worry is confined to just one anxiety disorder, this will not be diagnosed as GAD. A physician or doctor may diagnose hypochondriasis if they are worrying about having a serious illness, a separation anxiety disorder if worrying about being away from a relation, anorexia nrevosa if worried about weight gain and social phobia if they are worried about being embarrassed to be in public.

Patients with anxiety disorder often present symptoms similar to clinical depression and vice-versa. It is not uncommon for a patient to exhibit symptoms of only one of these.

How is anxiety treated?

With psychological counselling or with prescribed drugs, anxiety can be treated or certainly be controlled. The treatment path depends on the type of the anxiety and what the individual would prefer. Often treatments will be a combination of psychotherapy, behavioral therapy, and medications.

Sometimes depression, alcoholism, or other coexisting conditions have such an effect on the person that treating the anxiety disorder must wait until the coexisting conditions are brought under control.

Self treatment

There are times when aniety can be treated in the home without having to visit a doctor but in only certain situations where the extent of the type of anxiety is fairly short and the actual cause is discovered quickly and can then be treated. The person can then take certain actions in the form of exercise that have been recommended by a specialist or doctor that can help releive the symptom of anxiety.

People get to learn and be able to manage and live with their stress. Keeping an eye on how they cope with the stresses and strains of family and work life by taking time away from daily activities with a variety of relaxation techniques. Reading books on relaxation, meditation and health food and acting on them can be simple ways of relieving the stress.

Practising deep abdominal breathing by breathing in slowly through the nose, filling the lungs taking it down to your stomach and then slowly breathing out also slowly through your mouth without doing this for too long as this could lead you to feel faint and dizzy from the extra oxygen.

Learn to replace “negative self talk” with “coping self talk.” Make a list of negative thoughts you have, and write a list of positive, believable thoughts to replace them. Then Replace those negative thoughts with positive ones. Picture yourself as a successful person who has overcome their fear over and over and believe that you can talk yourself round this problem. Talk with a person who is supportive.

Meditation.
Exercise, this can be anything rigorous or gentle walking pace.
Take long hot relaxing baths.
Rest in a dark room.
Counseling

Psychological counceling is regarded as normal methods of treating different aspects of anxiety.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is used to help and treat a patients thinking patterns that are related to stress, anxiety and troubled, irrational behavior. There are 2 parts to this type of therapy. There is behavioural part used to alter the way people behave to the situation, person or event that can start a panic or anxiety attack and the cognitive part is designed to reduce distorted thinking.

Say a person undergoing cognitive behavioural treatment for anxiety might work on how the panic attacks is not a cardaicarrest. The people receiving this treatment for obsessive compulsive disorder for cleaning their hands could work with a therapist to try and get their hands dirty and see how long they can cope with longer amounts of time before they are aloud to wash them.

Therapists will work with post traumatic stress disorder sufferers by trying to get them to recall the event while they are in a safe environment to help reduce their fear and what reaction it produces.

Exposure-based therapies such as CBT usually have people face their fears and try to help them become desensitized toanxiety-triggering situations

Psychotherapy is another type of counseling treatment for anxiety disorders. It consists of talking with a trained mental health professional, psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, or other counselor. Sessions are used to help discover the causes of anxiety and possible ways to cope with symptoms.

Medicine

Medical help for anxiety sufferers use several types of medication. If the cause of the anxiety is a physical ailment, treatment will be used to get rid of the particular ailment. This might involve surgery or other medication to try and reduce or eliminate a physical anxiety trigger.

Often, though, medicines such as antidepressants, benzodiazepines, tricyclics, and beta-blockers are used to control some of the physical and mental symptoms. Medication tends to be used as a last resort.

Historically, anxiety has been used with a type of drug called benzodiazepines. Offering to treat the symptoms with drugs has been drastically reduced due to their addictive nature. These drugs tend to have few side-effects except for drowsiness and possible dependency.

How is anxiety prevented?

Although anxiety disorders cannot be prevented, there are ways toreduce your risk and methods to control or lessen symptoms. Recommendations include:

Reducing your intake of caffeine, cola, and chocolate.
Herbal Remedies need to be checked if they contain chemicals that could contribute to anxiety or panic attacks with the pharmacist or doctor.

Exercising regularly, at least 3 times a week. This only has to be gentle exercise of 30 minutes per session.
Eating healthy food; 5 fruit per day, brown bread, meat and 2 veg.Fibre and carbohydrates maintains energy levels.

Keeping a regular sleep pattern. About 8 hours a night.
Seeking counseling and support after a traumatic or disturbing experience.

Considerate amounts of alcohol. Men should only drink 21 units per week, women only 14 units. 1 unit is half a glass of beer or glass of wine.
Avoid taking recreational drugs.

Many many ordinary people suffer from anxiety or when in passing conversation say that they suffer regularly from anxiety. But what is anxiety?

Anxiety is a term used for different disorders that can turn into physical symptoms that are caused by being tense, nervous and worry. There are different levels of anxiety where you can have mild anxiety whichcan be unsettling to more severe symptoms that cause mental and physical health problems.

Anxiety usually develops when someone is facing something that is outof their comfort zone and therefore can be many challenging situations. For example, if you were to take an exam, attend an interview or give a speech. It affects people in different ways because for some, these situationscan be considered normal yet to many others, it can affect your whole life suchas being unable to sleep, cause mistakes at work or being unable to eat properly. In general, anxiety happens when a reaction is exaggerated with what is usually expected.

Anxiety disorders can be categorised into more specific types. Below are the most common forms of anxiety.

G.A.D – Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Generalized Anxiety Disorder is a severe form of anxiety categorised byexcessive long term anxiety and are afraid of non specific events and situations. These sufferers of G.A.D worry about all sorts of issues. This can be family life, work related issues, health, money worries but have trouble identifying the controlling their fears. This fear is often looked at by outsiders as sometimes a little trivial and overblown of what is normally expected from these situations. This can sometimes be looked as a little unfair as they are unable to emphasis and being too critical on the individual who has difficulty handling somewhat trivial but distressing everyday problems, like social activities, relationships and work related issues.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is anxiety that is brought on from a previous situation that was particularly distressing. These can be severe cases such as if someone was attacked or burgled to very severe cases such as hostage situations, rape cases orfor a soldier who has fought in military combat. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder involves flashbacks to that particular event and can cause stress behaviour when the situation is recalled.

What is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is disorder of anxiety that can be irrationaland repetitive but the sufferer alleviates their compulsive disorder by acting on performing a certain pattern with an insistence such as obsessively washing their hands, checking the door locks, ovenlight switches and constantly cleaning personal items.

Social Anxiety Disorder?

Social Anxiety Disorder is a social phobia that is a fear of public humiliation and by being judged by people with a negative attitude. Examples of this are possibly a fear of being intimate or if a performer gets severe stress from stage fright. This can have a serious affect on the person by becoming reclusive and avoids appearing in the public reaching critical circumtstances that leaves having a normal life almost impossible.

What is Panic Disorder?

Panic Disorder is a type of anxiety categorized by short, sudden attacks of severe terror and apprehension that leads to breathing difficulties, dizziness and nausea. Panic attacks can happen very quickly and peak after 15 minutes, but they can last for hours. Panic disorders sometimes occur after terrifying experiences or prolonged stress, but they can be spontaneous as well. A panic attack may lead a person to be quite aware of any change in normal body function, interpreting it as a life threatening illness – hypervigiliance followed by hypochondriasis. Also, attacks lead a sufferer to expect further panic attacks, which could cause drastic behavioral changes in order to avoid these attacks.

What is a Phobia?

A Phobia is an indescribable fear of an object, event or situation that causes the person to have a panic attack or an uncontrollable reaction where the action is very difficult to control. Phobias such as flying or particular animals such as reptiles are quite common and experienced by many people, but there are many, many phobias of objects that can be seen as quite strange yet still result in the person having irrational anxiety attacks. There is a programme on Uk tv that is called”Freaky Eaters” where there are people who are only able to eat certain foods and any other food can create minor panic attacks. Generally most people have a phobia and find it no problem to avoid these situations but those who come in contact with their phobia on many occasions change their behavior instantly and feel the need to escape.

What is Separation Anxiety Disorder?

Seperation Anxiety Disorder is a disorder that places a person with feelings of panic and irrational behaviour when they are far away from a particular object, person or place. Particular cases of when people leave home to another city or country or if a family is seperated find it difficult to cope with their new surroundings leading to excessive or inappropriate behaviour.

The common symptoms of anxiety

People with anxiety disorders present many different physical symptoms as well as non-physical symptoms that characterize the disorders such as excessive, unrealistic worrying. Many of these symptoms are similar to those exhibited by a person suffering general illness, heart attack, or stroke, and this tends to further increase anxiety.

Below is a list of the physical symptoms associated with Generalized Anxiety Disorder:

Trouble sleeping

Easily startled

Tense Muscles

Irritated

Concentration problems

Tiredness

Headaches,

Migranes

Shaking

Stomach ache

Nausea

Pins and needles

Faster Heart Rate

Sweating

Itching or scratching

Those suffering from panic disorders may experience similar physical symptoms to those with Generalized Anxiety Discorder. They also may experience breath shortness, feeling faint, and a sense of choking.

Post-traumatic stress disorders have also different symptoms that are unique to this form of anxiety. The More Frequent symptomatic behaviors include:

Nightmares or flashbacks of re-experiencing the trauma

Avoiding things associated with the disorder, avoiding people.

Difficulty concentrating

Being unable to sleep

Closely watching surroundings (hypervigilance)

Diminished or irratabilty of feelings or aspirations for the future

So, what Causes Anxiety?

Most common causes of anxiety can be triggered by ourselves telling us negative thoughts and the worst case scenario will happen. Have you ever gone for an interview thinking you’ll do badly, and that is exactly what happens? There are other factors such as medical, brain disorder, genetics, early childhood experiences or a combination of all. The most common anxiety comes from the stress in our lives and feeling a lack of confidence when others around them are being successful.

Environmental and external factors

Environmental factors that are known to create different sorts ofanxiety include:

Trauma from events such as a death of a close relation or friend,

mental or physical abuse or victimization.

Stress in a personal relationship, marriage, friendship

Stress at work Stress at school, college or university

Stress about money and financial issues

Lack of oxygen in areas of high altitude.

Medical factors

Anxiety is associated with medical factors such as anemia, asthma, infections, and several heart conditions. There are some medically-relatedcauses of anxiety such as:

Symptoms of a medical illness or operation

Side effects of medication

A lack of oxygen from pulmonary embolism or emphysema

Substance use and abuse

Many people who are dependent on alcohol or medication suffer from mental health problems for certain anxiety disorders such as panic disorder, social phobia or Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
More generally, anxiety is also know to result from:

Intoxication from an illicit drug, such as cocaine or amphetamines

If the person stops taking an illicit drug, such as heroin, or from prescription drugs like barbiturates, Vicodin or benzodiazepines.

Genetics

Possibly the most unfortunate reasons are suggested that if there is a history of anxiety in the persons family, there is a good chance they could develop it. Some people have a genetic predisposition which will give them more of a chance of getting anxiety disorders.

Brain chemistry

Researchers have discovered that people with abnormal levels of certain neurotransmitters in their brain have a greater chance to suffer from generalized anxiety disorder. When neurotransmitters are not functioning properly, the brain’s internal communication network breaks down, and the brain may behave in an inappropriate and different way in certain situations. This can lead to anxiety.

Do you know a person that is a very natural and outgoing person that whenever he enters a room full of strangers, in no time at all he will be chatting away with people as though they’ve known them all their lives. They come across as being very nice, charasmatic and a great charmer.

This person with excellent social skills achieves great things and that’s down to other people who catapult him to great success.People trust them and they get support from those they have helped. This is down to him maximizing his social skills and social power.

If you know the secrets to your own social skills, then you can become whoever you want to be and reach self empowerment. Self empowerment is by overhauling your life and making yourself more successful, happier and content. The great thing is that you can definitely succees and there is no reason why it shouldn’t. You just need to know where to start and this social skills lesson plan will really help you achieve what you really want.

1. Be A Genuine person.

If you are a hypocrit you will eventually get found out to being a fake and people will see your selfish intentions. If you are genuine and nice to people and be interested in them they will reciprocate. Don’t be fake, if you really can’t be interested, just move away.

2. Be a good listener

Listening to people’s problems and listening with your heart will earn the love and trust of them. Listen and sympathise with them, make eye contact and listen as if every word matters. That person will then confide in you more and more, they will trust you and will always approach you.

3. Laugh out loud.

This is not forcing yourself to laugh at any slight funny remark made albeit you don’t find it funny. What we mean is to try and find humor in most things and basically not to take things too seriously. Someone with a good sense of humor will attract people and in time, success. Walking around with a miserable, down face won’t attract any attention.

4. Never forget yourself.

In the process of fluttering around like a social butterfly, you might forget yourself, allowing everyone to push you over.Take value in yourself and deem yourself respectability and worthy of affection and people will flock to you and not walk all over you.

5. Do random acts of kindness.

This doesn’t mean you have to blow all your money on charities and do non stop voluntary work. Small acts of kindness mean the most which can be simply helping an elderly person cross the road. When we were very young we were taught how to be kind and this was drilled into us. Now is the time to revive the good deeds and let them stay good. You know the phrase, “one good turn deserves another.”

6. Contact old friends.

With the advent of friend reunited, facebook and other social network websites, getting in touch with old friends all over the world is very simple to do. Adding these old friends to your roster of support peers will surely make you feel a lot better.

7. Develop your personality.

Are you grouchy, grumpy and generally bad tempered? Then you can’t go through life with those poor attributes. Get rid of the bad habits that perpetually hamper your growth. And really, who wants a grouchy friend anyway? You’ll notice the miserable people don’t have that many friends.

8. Be confident.

Be able to walk to the other corner of the room and introduce yourself to people with that winning smile of yours. Just remember: be confident, not arrogant. Make yourself approachable.

9. Practice control.

If you get angry don’t snap at anyone. Never throw a tantrum. Keep calm and collected. Be grown up to take control of the situation and change your anger into something more productive and passive. As soon as people think your anger goes to volcanic proportions easily, they will find it hard to come to you.

10. Keep nurturing your relationships.

The most important thing in your life is the relationship you have with your family friends and significant others is far too precious that you must not neglect it whatever happens. Get yourself out and spend some fun time with them. Do things together. Happiness will never fly from your side as long as the people who matter the most are close to you.

In the end, using the social skills lesson plan and using self-empowerment will make you become a better and nicer person. It’s a totally win-win situation: the people know they can turn to you anytime and you can turn to them.

Having some positive thinking will assist you to realize things that

won't get you far in the world.

Somewhere in the back of your mind you probably have a bright idea that
you can’t wait to try it out. However, you’re not the only one with
the bright idea but many other people don’t do anything about it.
So, you need to motivate yourself to churn those creative, or even
inspiring juices into its utmost flavor!
It’s a good idea to set up a personal goal which you can achieve in
the most in record time, it can be start as something quite insignificant like
mowing the lawn in an hour before watching the big game on TV. A correct and positive attitude in whatever you do will make things easier, and even enjoyable.

Having some positive thinking will assist you to realize things that
are never thought possible. Thinking big is certainly the way forward
because what’s the point in just having a dream that is limited and
won’t get you far in the world.

We have some tips to get you through the week to increase your positive thinking even if you’re just sitting in your favorite couch. An idea takes time to form in your head and it always seems that you are at work while you are busy.

1. Take passionate action towards living your life by design. Talk
is cheap. Action means to deposit in the bank of a passionately authentic
future. Without it, passion is void.

This is a very good example where aspirations are started off where you start
by tinkering with your mind, then with your hands. If the idea starts to
weaken, you can always go back to it later until you finish it.

2. Commit to yourself as well as those you love to create
powerfully a life you can love. Instead of reacting, commit to
creating from your heart and soul, out of love rather than fear.
The American Dream will always be there, but a dream will still be
a dream without motion. You’ll be amazed of the transformation.

3. Notice and embrace the thought that each moment is perfect
no matter of its outcome. Each time you hit on something that may
appear too extreme, just give it a shot and see if it will work.
You could be amazed to see if there are other ways to get the
task done in time. If you aren’t happy with the outcome, use that
moment to learn from and take the appropriate action.

4. Dwell completely in a place of gratitude. Try to utilize what
you have in your hands and make use of it in the most constructive
way. Slipping into neediness will become less of a habit when you
repeatedly shift towards gratitude, away from poverty
consciousness.

5. Use a Passion Formula of Recognize,Re-evaluate and Restore in place
of the Shoulda/Woulda/Coulda whirlwind. The first part is based on the increase
amount of abundance and knowledge while the latter is based on the
scarcity and lack of. When you face tasks or people that look almost
impossible to achieve, allow yourself to notice that the task is as
important as giving out instructions to your subordinates.

6. Keep humor at the forefront of thought, never take yourself too
seriously and laugh when possible. Loosen up and you’ll find yourself
entertaining. Life has such a great deal to offer and by just moping
around and being miserable in self pity. Humor is attractive. Ask what
a woman wants in a man, one of the main answers is to be able to make
her laugh. And most men want a woman who is chatty and has a good
sense of humor.

7. Believe that you are the architect of your destiny. No one can
take your passionate future from you except for you! Create your
life authentically. As long as there’s still breath in your body,
there is no end to how much you can achieve in your life. The
concept of thinking big is all about enjoying your work, which
would lead to celebrate a discovery that is born within your hands.
Watch everything flow into place with perfect, passionate
precision.

It’s quite interesting in how people get engrossed in trivial matter such
as learning how to use a computer, when these days the big computer companies
are creating software that even kids can do it.
I don’t mean to be condescending, but that’s the idea of not having
any positive thinking in your life-you’ll just end up as a dim bulb
in a dark corner. So instead of subjecting yourself to what you
will be doomed for, make your path by taking the first step with a
positive attitude.

Although life isn’t very simple a easy, if I ever feel that I’m the unluckiest person alive I look around at all the people in the world and see that I’m the absolute opposite. For all the suffering
people who live on virtually nothing or those who have a disability yet are able to live quite fulfilling lives and go around without any self pity. So although you are a very lucky, healthy person there are many steps to take to make you a much better happier person.

So, how does one become genuinely happy? What is Happiness? and how do we discover
the pursuit of happiness? Mmm, some interesting questions!

Step 1 is to love yourself.

My theology professor once said that “loving means accepting.” To love yourself means to accept that you aren’t the perfect human being, but behind the imperfections must lie a large amount of courage to be able to find out ways on how to improve your repertoire to recover from our mistakes.

Genuine happiness also leads to contentment. When you are content with your job have, how you look, happy with your family, your friends, where you live, your car, and all the things you now have – truly, you know the answer to the question “how to be genuinely happy.”

When we find a small start somewhere from within ourselves, that start will eventually lead to something else, and then onto to something else. However if you continue to question life like it has never done you any good, you won’t be able to find genuine happiness.

The thing is that life is all about making mistakes and rectifying them and learning from them, finding what’s wrong and right, trying out things and failing but overcoming these failings. Failure is what a person’s life has become as abundant and necessary, but failure should never stop us from becoming happy.

So, are you genuinely happy in spite all these? I tell you… every time you exert effort to improve the quality of life and your being, whether it is tidying up your room, helping a friend,
taking care of your dog, failing exams and trying again, life gives you equivalent points for that.

Imagine life as a big score board like those which are used in the big sporting arenas. Every time you take a step forward, you make scoring points. Wouldn’t it be nice to look at that board at the end of each game and think to yourself “Whew! I got a point today. I’m glad I gave it a shot.”, instead of looking at it all blank and murmur “Geez, I didn’t even hit a score today. I wish I had the guts to try out. We could have won!” and then walk away.

Genuine happiness doesn’t mean driving the hottest sports car, nor getting the employee of the year award, earning the highest amount of money amongst your friends (although to some it is!) Sometimes, the most sought after prizes in life doesn’t always go to the fastest, the strongest, the bravest or not even the best. So, how do you become genuinely happy? Every one has his own definition of ‘happiness’.

Happiness is always different for each and every one of us. It could be a writer launching a best selling book, a footballer getting the player of the year award or for a businessman making a sale that makes a lot of money for his company. But it doesn’t have to be achieving the best in
whatever business you’re in.

So, it all boils down to how do we find become genuinely happy? Simple. You don’t have to have the best things in this world. Its about doing and making the best out of everything you do. When you find yourself smiling at your own mistake and telling your self “Oh, I’ll do
better next time”, that will subconciously create a strong will power to persevere that may spread out like a brush fire. You have a willingness to stand up again and try – that will make you a genuinely happy person.

It’s actually very easy to to accept yourself and your own faults. You may already accept those faults. You pass step 1 in the project “how to become genuinely happy”.For as long as you know how to accept others, you will also be accepted. For as long as you love and know how to love, you will receive love ten folds back.

To ask again, “how do I become genuinely happy?” If I refer you to a friend of mine who said, “Most of us know that laughter is the best medicine.” But most of us don’t realize that the best kind of laughter is laughter over self. Because then you don’t just become happy, you win your freedom.
